Did you know that there are specific foods that can help bring a little more "heat" to your sex life

Updated: Apr 24, 2022

1.Avocado

Source of vitamin E, which helps to have healthy skin and nails, the fruit also provides potassium, vitamin B6 and monounsaturated fats for a healthy heart and circulation, something important for an active sex life. Studies show that men with heart disease are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction, as both conditions are a result of artery damage. One suggestion is to mash the fruit on toast in the morning or add slices to a sandwich or salad.

2.Chocolate (and cocoa powder)

It helps improve mood as it increases levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, also known as the happiness neurotransmitters. In addition, chocolate offers varying amounts of flavanols (Flavanols in cocoa have been studied for many years. They have been shown to help lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to the brain and heart, prevent blood clots, and fight cell damage.), which help relax blood vessels and increase blood flow. Since the amount (and therefore the benefits) of cocoa flavones vary widely, it is best to use the unsweetened version or a fortified powder.

3.Fish

Fatty fish like tuna, sardines and salmon not only "swim" in omega-3 fatty acids, which are great for the heart; they also increase levels of dopamine in the brain, improving circulation and blood flow. They are still rich in protein and a good source of vitamin B-6, which helps in healthy blood production. A quick suggestion is to mix canned tuna in a pot of ricotta cream and eat between two slices of wholegrain bread.

4.Green tea

Could a hot cup of tea warm up your sex life? Yes, especially green tea, which is rich in compounds called catechins (a potent oxidant), which kill free radicals that damage and inflame blood vessels, increasing their ability to transport blood. In addition to this version, try adding it to your morning oatmeal, mixing in a green tea smoothie, or adding some green tea to your yogurt.

5.Quail Egg (or Chicken Egg)

Despite not having a direct relationship with libido, it is a source of B vitamins, linked to better sperm production, in addition to coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant whose task is to protect us from free radicals and any external agent that causes of oxidative damage. However, it is no use going out eating a tray a day. The measure is four quail eggs for one chicken, daily, if the person does not have any problems with excess cholesterol.

6.Pepper

It has capsaicin, which gives the spicy flavor to the seasoning and still has a discreet thermogenic effect, slightly increasing blood circulation. If the person has no contraindication, such as gastritis and reflux, it is worth including it in everyday life.

7.Peanut

It is a food rich in energy, a source of fats and has vitamin E, essential for the production of sex hormones. That is why this entire mystique about peanuts. Other sources are Brazil nuts, cashew nuts, walnuts, almonds and vegetable oils such as sunflower. Go for the roasted, unsalted version, and eat no more than can fit in a cup of coffee.

8.Pumpkin seeds

One of the best plant sources of zinc, it also has protein, fiber, potassium and iron. Important for immune function, wound healing and eye health, zinc still plays a role in male sex drive, as its deficiency can lead to low testosterone. One study found that men who were given 30 milligrams of zinc a day showed increased levels of free testosterone in their bodies. Enjoy pumpkin seeds in your snack, or add them to your salad, for example.
